I like to read a diverse list of books at a time. Here are the main books I’m reading at the minute.
Strategy: A History
Sir Lawrence Freedman
This comprehensive guide through the history of strategic thought is a bit too much for a single sitting. I have been dipping in and out of this book since 2023. It covers all aspects of strategic thought, from military to business. In fact, it even critiques Satan’s strategy in the Bible!
This volume is a key work for understanding strategy in all its forms. Written by a professor of Military History at King’s College, London, it leans heavily on the development of military strategy since the 1900, analyzing the thought of Napolean and Clausewitz right through to American maneuvres in the Gulf States in the 1990s.
